Ryzhik is considered "the first cat in the world with bionic four limbs", as the paws were amputated following the gangrene caused by the cold! thanks to technology, he can now walk.

Technology is constantly evolving and thanks to it it has been possible to achieve milestones never achieved before. And, the story we are going to tell you now, has technology as its guiding thread, while the protagonist is a cat! More precisely a cat.

We are in Siberia, where it is well known, that temperatures in winter are rather rigid and easily reach -40 ° C. Unfortunately these temperatures so cold, put a strain on animal life and there have been several cases of frostbite that eventually led to death of the animal itself.

A tragic fate, which unfortunately was happening to one abandoned cat of the city of Tomsk. Her legs were completely frozen and this had caused gangrene. It was found in one sorry state by a man, who decided to take her and submit her to all the necessary treatments. He renamed it Ryzhik.

They were amputated all four legs, but the new owner's efforts went far beyond that. In fact he decided to take it in one specialized clinic in Novosibirsk.

Here, she has been implanted with legs in titanium thanks to the help of technology. In fact, thanks to a new experimental technique of 3D printing and modeling, it was possible to build these own paws tailor-made for her.

This new technology has also allowed the titanium legs to become one with the rest of the limb, so as to allow a good walking. Ryzhik is considered "the first cat in the world to undergo such an operation". A big step forward to technology, which can truly help many animals in need.
