One day like any other, after lunch, a couple were taking a stroll through an alley in their neighborhood near Fresno County schools. What sounded like birds chirping instead took them on a real mission of rescue for a little kitten alone, without his mom.

Jennifer and Jim Yovino were walking down an alley in downtown Fresno, California. Suddenly a small cry caught their attention.

At first they thought it might be a bird, then listening closely, it sounded more like a desperate cry, a meow for help.

It came from a dumpster behind a large closed gate. They couldn't see him because he was small and he was buried in the garbage.

Some kindhearted people approached to offer their help. They tried to open the gate. Once inside, Jennifer tried to find the kitten, but the shy little feline escaped and took refuge under a moving van.

They called the sweet kitten Fulton. He was still scared, but at the same time he had never been so warm and loved.

The Cat House on the Kings in Parlier, California put the sweet kitty in their care and found him a wonderful foster home with many other kittens to play with.

Fulton is always tender when he plays and then, he never uses his claws. No wonder he is friends with other dogs and cats of all sizes. Fulton was adopted with another kitten named Polly!
