Commuter cats: travel stories

Stories of commuter cats, who usually take or took public transport to get around. Some do not know the destination or why, while for some it is a pleasant way to take an outdoor stroll.

Cats, you know, are full of surprises! And it is no coincidence that they are often the protagonists of hilarious stories. Today we would like to tell you about some stories that have a common thread that connects them. That is the ability of some cats to know how to take i public transport and take a more or less short trip.

Let's start from 'Italy, where in Calci, a town in Tuscany, there is a cat that regularly gets on board a bus at the Montemagno stop.

Almost nothing is known about him, neither if he is male or female, if he has owners and above all why he takes the bus. We only know about him that he takes the bus every day at the Montemagno stop and gets off at the next stop.

And it's a real sight to be able to watch it when it settles into a seat, and it seems to enjoy it quietly travel. And with the same calm with which he went up, down and headed for some unknown destination.

We then continue with Artful Dodger, a elderly english cat, which is no longer there. He would get on every day at the bus stop in front of his house in Bridport and then get off once he reached Charmouth.

Of course, the first time this traveling cat took the bus, its owner was quite upset, because she feared he was lost. Instead, before the woman got into the car to go look for him, the bus passed with Artful Dodger inside, who got off at the stop in front of his house and walked very calmly into the house.

It was not uncommon, therefore, to find him taking the bus always on time and always in the usual place. Once he got on the vehicle he jumped into the lap of the travelers, or he sat in some free seat and quietly enjoyed the journey.

He became very popular and also the transport company, on which he traveled, became fond of him and many times they fed him after the trip. Then old age and a tumor they took away, but he continues to live in the hearts of all who have known him.

Then we go to Tokyo where since 2013, on the meter, a cat travels with a very specific route, namely from the Seibu Ikebukuro stop to the Chichibu stop.

All the passengers who met him say that this cute cat (we don't know the name or if it has an owner) respects the common areas and gives its place to passengers. In short, a real one gentleman.

Another cat in the news was, in Plymouth in England, the cat Casper, a Siberian, who every day took bus number 3 always at 10:55 am, getting in line like a normal passenger.

Then he would return, after the tour, quietly at home. Unfortunately a disastrous day was run over and the bus commuters who had got to know him, at his usual stop, posted a sign that reads Casper we will miss you. You were loved by everyone, and you made the time spent on the bus more enjoyable”. In fact Casper used to give pampering to all passengers.
