Last minute news is the discovery of six specimens of the bengal cat, on a farm in Silandro, a town in the province of Bolzano. A 34 year old man was reported, after reports, by the Public Prosecutor of Bolzano, per illegal and unauthorized sale of this species.
The man had 2 adults and 4 Bengal cat kittens without documentation which, fortunately, thanks to the collaboration of the Carabinieri of Bolzano and the staff of the Veterinary Service, are in good condition, but do not have microchips. The man was denounced because he raised this particular breed of cat without any health and administrative authorization and because the specimens were certainly destined for the clandestine trafficking. This hypothesis is still under investigation, as well as the purity and real origin of these felines. The Bengal cat is still a very rare breed of cat and the cost of a single cat can reach over 2000 euros with a pedigree. The six specimens, for the moment, have been entrusted to the “Sill” animal health shelter in Bolzano.
Unfortunately, the illegal trafficking of rare cats is increasingly rampant. Be wary of all those "breeders" or if they have to be called, who propose the purchase of a rare cat at a significantly lower price compared to the normal purchase price.
If you want to buy a purebred cat, always make sure they have the pedigree. In fact, it is a very important and mandatory document, which certifies the genealogy of the cat and its specific belonging to a specific breed. Here in Italy it is issued only by the Italian feline associations. On the pedigree you will find:
- name of the cat
- date of birth
- coat color
- registration number
- number of microchips
- name of the breeder
- name of the farm from which it comes
- name with characteristics of the cat's mother and father
- the entire lineage of the cat, as long as there is clear and certain documentation
The cat's pedigree is therefore a real identity card, created in order to receive any nasty surprises after the purchase of the purebred feline.
In conclusion, we hope that these found Bengal cats have all the care they need and we hope that the phenomenon of illegal trafficking can be increasingly opposed, for the sake of the animals themselves.
A shocking story, but which fortunately has a happy ending. We are in Tribano ( Padua ) where a 17-year-old boy, residing in Pozzonovo, was reported by the Carabinieri for mistreatment of animals and insult to public officials. The reason?
TO Viterbo , a man bought a Bengal cat online , only to discover after more than two months that it was one scam . Now, a man who passed himself off as veterinarian was denounced. A very special story that comes from the chronicle of Viterbo.
This time, it comes from the chronicle of Turin yet another case involving a four-legged friend of ours, in this case a little one kitten . Unfortunately, there is more and more news like this. In a period not very lucky for our pets, with the typical abandonments of the summer period, there are also people who take it out on the Stray cats .
A few months ago the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee (IKBC) shelter welcomed one into its facility kitten particular. The little girl was immediately the center of attention, given her unusual characteristics. In the early days they called it Zara and the staff got to know it little by little, understanding its character and the little things that are understood over time.
Our cats are a little independent, indifferent and sometimes very, very spiteful. However, if your cat takes these behaviors to the extreme, you must intervene as soon as possible. If you can't change their behavior, because you can't and you already know, take secondary steps and consider the option of alerting others and changing their behavior when they have your cat in front of them.
