Padua: kittens thrown from the ditch in a nylon bag, 17 year old reported

A shocking story, but which fortunately has a happy ending. We are in Tribano (Padua) where a 17-year-old boy, residing in Pozzonovo, was reported by the Carabinieri for mistreatment of animals and insult to public officials. The reason? now we talk about it! During a patrol ride on provincial road 45, the Carabinieri of Padua saw the boy in question with a nylon bag in hand, near a moat. I had launched kittens from the ditch!

The soldiers, suspicious of his behavior, followed him and the boy, realizing their presence, hurled himself against them violently. A somewhat ignoble behavior, but even more ignoble is the reason.

He had thrown a nylon bag into the ditch with a few days old kitten inside and was about to throw another one where there were four other newborn kittens inside. A truly terrible and pitiful scene. Luckily the kittens are all safe.

There cat mom it was then recovered in the home of the boy, the author of the terrible gesture.

Once reunited, the cat mom was able to cuddle her little kittens. For the moment they are under the care of volunteers from a local shelter.

We hope that an adoption can take place as soon as possible, giving the cat mom and her five kittens one family that you treat them with love and respect. a special thanks also goes to the Carabinieri of Padua, who thanks to their promptness, saved the lives of these wonderful puppies.

Furthermore, we wanted to highlight the problem of violence against animals which is increasingly present. While on the one hand there are people who love animals, who respect them, who treat them as family members and would do everything to ensure their well-being, on the other hand, there are unscrupulous people who consider them as garbage, not taking into account that they have both a heart and a soul.

The frailty of animals should be compared to that of a child. So they should have the same care and attention that a child requires.

For this reason and thanks to the incessant struggle of animal rights activists, finally even the mistreatment of animals is considered a crime real and therefore prosecutable. The standard contained in the Penal Code which governs the crime of mistreatment of animals states: "Anyone who, for cruelty or without necessity, causes an injury to an animal or subjects it to torture or behavior or to fatigue or to work that is unbearable due to its ecological characteristics is punished with imprisonment for three months one year or with a fine of between 3,000 and 15,000 euros ".

This law was also possible thanks to the recognition of the animal of feel pain. So all those situations that cause pain to the animal are punishable. We hope that these laws can be increasingly effective in avoiding mistreatment, torture and death to animals, not just cats and kittens but everyone.
