Barb Gosselin, founder of Shuswap Paws Rescue, received a call from a woman who lived in a small Canadian village. His spayed cat, he had brought home three kittens. The shocked woman went looking around her mother, but found nothing. He had no idea where his cat had found the kittens.

The woman informed the volunteers that her cat was unable to breastfeed the kittens, so they decided to go get the kittens. Once they arrived, they found the three terrified kittens hiding under the bed, blowing at anyone who came near. They were very thin, a sign that they had not been fed for a while, this made them think that their stray mother was dead.

While they were in the car, they noticed some health problems and immediately took them to the vet. They had noticed a problem with one of the kittens, a condition known as nystagmus, in which the eyes make repetitive and uncontrolled movements.

The vet found that the kittens suffered from an ice bite, severe malnutrition and dehydration. The kitten's condition was caused by the lack of nutrition in addition to the fear and stress experienced.

A volunteer took them home for a few days, just long enough to recover. Loki, her cat, decided to cooperate. He took the scariest kitten, named Varader and started his work.

When Varadero was rescued, she was so stressed that her eyes trembled, she panted, she didn't trust men. Gradually things changed, he learned to gain trust in human beings.
Finally the three kittens were ready for their new life. They transformed from frightened and wild kittens to happy kittens.

They have found loving families who will take care of them. Thanks to the caring cat, the three kittens are safe and sound and will now have a life full of love.
