A few days ago Alissa Smith, co-founder of Wrenn Rescues, was contacted because four ten day old kittens needed help. The kittens were found in an overgrown yard with their mother, but there stray cat she quickly escaped and ran away. To return the following day a look for her puppies.

A volunteer started feeding them with a bottle. The kittens seemed healthy, a sign that the mother cat was feeding them properly.

Typically when kittens arrive at the shelter, they no longer see their mother. This is also one more reason to leave the newborn puppies where they are because the mother returns to look for them.

Alissa was ready to bring the kittens back until they were weaned, but then something surprising happened.

The residents left the kittens at the shelter and returned home, but were surprised to find the mother cat outside looking for her kittens.

At first, she was very shy and refused to go out, until Alissa brought a puppy close to her, then she quickly calmed down. She turned and curled up among her puppies, purring.

They all went to her and she started breastfeeding. Sweet mom was in pure bliss, purring and kneading her paws as she fed her hungry little kittens.

“I don't think we've ever seen anything so moving. Unbelievable this miracle happened,”Alissa said. Special thanks always go to the volunteers who work for the needy kittens. We imagine that seeing the happy ending is always a great satisfaction for them.
