A moving and at times unlikely story. The story of five kittens who struggled to survive. And that they did it.
One day, a man from Texas heard groans coming from his garage. Not knowing what it could possibly be, he went on a patrol and at one point, he saw, in a locker, five small kittens. Their eyes were still closed and the umbilical cord still attached.
Surely their mother had abandoned them. The man moved with compassion, immediately called the "Wilco Regional Animal Shelter" which immediately took charge of it. They were rescued by a volunteer, Megyn, who found that the kittens were no more than 2-3 days old.
Four of these kittens weighed around 90-100 grams, but there was one that weighed only 77 grams. Little Brie. Megyn, however, saw that the day after the discovery, the kittens stopped eating and what little they could swallow, they regurgitated immediately. Surely this was due to the fact that they did not have the antibodies given by the mother's milk. Megyn, however, absolutely wanted to save them.
So he placed them on a warm bed and kept them hydrated. Slowly, slowly, day after day, the kittens began to regain their strength. And they also started walking and exploring. Even Brie, the youngest, at 3 and a half weeks exceeded 400 grams in weight.
Another kitten, Feta, gradually stopped peeing on her and started using the litter box.
Today the kittens have fully recovered their strength, their teeth are germinating and will soon be able to be weaned. From today onwards a new chapter of theirs awaits them: a family, a home all to themselves.
For now, however, they only think about playing and fighting with each other.
