There hi-tech cat flap designed, taking advantage of the Arduino artificial intelligence, to prevent cats from bringing their prey into the house, is the work of Ben Hamm, Amazon product manager.

The need to create this structure started from his personal experience. In fact, he has a cat named Metric, which he himself renames "sweet and killer cat" for his uncontrollable ability to bring home mice, birds and anything else he catches during nocturnal explorations. To remedy this, he has designed this innovative and technological cat flap. How does it work?
The cat flap is equipped with a camera equipped with artificial intelligence which is able to detect if the cat, when returning home, has any prey in its mouth.
This artificial intelligence immediately sends a message to the owner and one at the same time electronic board developed in Italy under the name of Arduino, it blocks the door of the cat flap. The cat is thus unable to enter the house and it will then be up to the owner to decide what to do.
Another fundamental point of the project promoted by Ben Hamm is the ability of artificial intelligence, to immediately send a donation to the association "National Audubon Society", from the moment the cat itself is detected with a prey in its mouth. This US association protects birds and their habitats and these donations help improve their life and the quality of the environment!
