TO Torpignattara, on the outskirts of Rome, there are a group of cats living in a situation of danger daily. Between pusher, rubbish, mice and threats, two women who are part of the association "The cats of Torpignattara" bring food and help to these cats every day.
The story we are about to tell you takes us to Torpignattara, a suburb of Rome. Here is a unsafe and abandoned property which was seized by the police.
Naturally these places are the "favorites" for the many drug addicts, drug dealers and marginalized people who meet here. But this is not just a dangerous place to stay away from! This infamous place is there home of many cats.
For a long time, two women, Mrs. Nunzia and the dreamer Luciana, have been fighting to be able to give these cats a better life and above all away from danger. They are part of the association " The cats of Torpignattara " whose main objective is to help the many stray cats in the neighborhood. More precisely they try to give concrete help to the feline colony of Villa de Sanctis and also to help all the other people who manage various feline colonies.
The association also highlighted to the Municipality the total abandonment into which he pours that area, asking him for an immediate reclamation and above all the possibility of being able to manage it. Their desire would be to be able to create a place where cats can live freely, without running into danger. They will then themselves provide for all the expenses and finally put an end to this unpleasant situation of degradation.
For the moment all that Mrs. Nunzia and Mrs. Luciana can do is to bring the cat food and make sure they're okay. The dangers are certainly not lacking since the two have to make their way between the degradation and the constant threats by the "patrons" of this area. In short, a situation that has become somewhat unsustainable and that makes the survival of the many kittens that live there more difficult every day.
There are also appeals to collect food and above all to allow the sterilization of cats. We hope that sooner or later someone will be able to really give concrete and lasting support to the wonderful work that the volunteers are doing and that the many cats can live in a better environment away from degradation.
