Siberian cats have an absolutely delightful personality. They love their humans and they tend to follow them around the house, they also love meeting new people and often don't run away if you have company. Are also intelligent and playful and always ready to play with you, even if they never let you win. They are quick to learn tricks, such as recovery, or to walk on a leash and love to show their athleticism by holding on to unlikely objects and entering wherever they can.

The Siberians they fit well to live as pets as long as they have objects available to occupy their minds. Like many other breeds, the Siberian loves a routine and doesn't particularly like it when it changes for whatever reason. They like to be fed at the same time of day and do not appreciate when the furniture in the house is moved.

These cats also appear to be fascinated by water and they are known to be attracted to a dripping faucet. In fact, they like to soak in ponds and will often reappear in the house with wet or soaked paws after falling into them. They are also pretty curious and love to be involved in all aspects of the home: Helping to dig holes in the garden, sitting on the newspaper you are trying to read or just joking with the bubbles in the laundry bowl, they are always around to give a paw and make you laugh.

They are often compared to dogs in many of their behaviors: they are extremely loyal and form very strong bonds with their owners. A true best friend who will be there to greet you when you get home, play with you when you are happy and hug you when you are sad. When happy, a Siberian purrs quite impressive and, while not overly talkative, boasts a very sweet voice that is more like a chirp than a meow.

Even though they are energetic cats, Siberians are also known to be extremely patient and tolerant so as to be wonderful companions for a family. Thanks to their outgoing, affectionate and fun-loving personalities, they are a excellent choice for families with children even small ones. No nocturnal monster will surpass the Siberian guard at the foot of a child's bed.

However, care must be taken when very young children are around cats and any interaction should always be supervised by an adult. That said, babies need to be taught how to behave around cats and when it's time to leave them alone.

The Siberians are happy to live with other cats as long as they are in charge, too they also get along well with dogs especially when they grew up together in the same family. These felines are incredibly sociable by nature and are known to get along well with small animals. However, bearing in mind that Siberians are skilled hunters, it would be wise to keep an eye on all cats when around small pets to prevent them from becoming their prey.
