Today we want to tell you the particular story of Jek, the cat which helps its owner to fight the depression. How does he do it? Traveling with him.
The story begins a few years ago, when the owner of Jek has a very bad car accident. It's 2014 and for Jonathan Duca, the owner of the feline, begins a terrible ordeal.
The boy remains in a coma for a long time, undergoes many surgeries and is left with a head prosthesis. Unfortunately, for Jonathan, from that moment it is difficult to start living as before.
The boy thus enters a really dark tunnel, made of anxiety, suffering and above all of depression. Headaches are the order of the day and nothing and nobody seems to be able to bring him back to life as before.
Or rather, nothing and nobody except his cat Jek. Jonathan's treatment begins by chance, when the boy decides to spend a few days away from his city, Locarno, in Swiss.
It is during this journey that the boy realizes how healthy travel is for him. As he himself has repeatedly stated, traveling makes him feel good.
Of course, the headaches continue to exist, but he is able to cope better, without falling back into the tunnel of depression.
Obviously, from that first trip Jonathan decided to continue his life like this, moving from one place to another to keep depression away. And, of course, he certainly did not abandon his faithful four-legged friend to undertake this particular life path.
Since February 2019, Jek and Jonathan have been traveling the world. They have already shot much of the Swiss, of the France and also of Italy.
They move in the car and at night they stop to sleep in a tent, ready to leave again to discover new places the next day.
And the cat Jek never separates from his best human friend. She goes through every journey with him, hoping that soon her Jonathan will finally be able to defeat an illness as bad as depression.
