According to reports, the colony is located too close to a nursery and a facility for the elderly and does not comply with the regulations sanitation.
For animal rights activists, however, it is a violation of the National Law n. 281/1991. Feeding stray animals cannot be prohibited, whatever the reason.
According to complaints from citizens on the side of felines and animal rights activists, the cats were completely abandoned and left to die.
