Good news for all people who have a allergy to cats, because a vaccine ready to fight this problem.
Is called HypoCat and, although it is still in the testing phase, it appears to be truly one solution to this problem. Let's see together what it is.

HypoCat: how the cat allergy vaccine works
As mentioned, it is still a project in the phase of experimentation, but that looks pretty promising.
The vaccine against allergy to cats, called HypoCat, comes from a project carried out following a scientific study, the results of which were published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

When we talk about cat allergy, we are talking about a problem that affects many people. People who, therefore, have to give up their desire to adopt a feline.
But not only. Often this allergy occurs suddenly, forcing many families to give their pet away.
Here, the HypoCat could solve this problem. Like? Acting directly on the felines in the home of people who have this allergy.

We would not therefore be directly interested, but rather ours felines. The project provides in fact immunization of felines living at home with allergic people. For these people, therefore, the allergy problem would remain with all the other unvaccinated cats.
Speaking in more scientific terms, the vaccine operates on the so-called Fel d 1, a protein that cats have mainly in saliva, which is the main cause of allergies.
The HypoCat, therefore, would act directly on the protein, making the immune system of the cat capable of attacking and neutralizing it.

According to the study results, there are currently no side effects. All 54 cats subjected to the vaccine did not show any kind of consequence.
The only flaw is that not all felines showed a total immune response. Some cats have managed to eliminate the allergen completely, others only partially.
In addition, the results still do not show the actual decrease in symptoms associated with allergy. In short, the cat allergy vaccine is still being tested and therefore we just have to hope. According to the forecasts, it will not be ready for 3 years.
