  • There hip dysplasia it is a rather rare problem but still present in these animals, and causes abnormal development of the hip with consequent deterioration of the relative joint.
  • If the Bobtail is completely devoid of a tail it is possible that it is suffering from a malformation at the vertebral column capable of greatly compromising his health.

The American Bobtail is a medium-large sized cat, with a robust and muscular build; the average weight is between 3 and 7 kg. It has a very slow growth rate and reaches maturity only after 2-3 years. Obesity is a very common problem for this breed and can be very harmful to its health. However, it is a condition that can be solved and above all prevented by following some precautions:

  • Periodically monitor the weight of the animal;
  • Ensure a balanced diet in terms of quantity and guaranteed energy needs;
