All 3, as mentioned, were premature and weighed very little. Their hopes of survival were very slim.
In addition, there was the problem of nutrition. Would Ida be able to breastfeed her puppies and take care of them, despite being so sick and weak?
As mentioned, our four-legged friend has shown a truly unique strength. Of course, the volunteers helped her by feeding the puppies with a tube, but Ida never abandoned them.
Although she too was struggling to survive, she always remained by their side, nursing and caring for them.
Today all 4 are fine. Very soon they will be able to leave the sanctuary, ready to be adopted by a family that can finally make them happy.
