The coat of a Scottish Fold it is short and dense and comes in a variety of colors. Almost all the colors are accepted, with the exception of colors and designs that indicate hybridization: Colorpoint, Chocolate, Lilac or the same combined with white. This means that a Scottish Fold shouldn't look "Siamese". These colors may appear from time to time because, in the early stages of development of the Scottish Folds breed, they were bred into different shorthaired breeds: for example American Shorthair, British Shorthair, Burmese, Exotic, Siamese to name a few.

THE eye colors of Scottish Fold cats are bright and beautiful (some have compared their eyes to those of Persian cats, traditionally admired as the largest and most colorful). The eye colors should match the coat color.
Self-colors
These are the Solid colors, or rather the original pure white, black, blue, red and cream. There are no bar or tabby marks on the paws. The skin of the nose and paws reflect the color of the coat.

Pointed or gradient colors
Chinchilla
A chinchilla colored Scottish Fold has a white undercoat as well as the hair on the hips. What makes this cat quite elegant is the fact that the hair on the head and tail (and sometimes even on the paws) are slanted in black, and this gives the cat a silvery appearance. The ear tufts, chin, belly and chest of this chinchilla feline are pure white in color. The nose, lips and edges of the eyes are all edged in black, but the skin of the nose itself is brick red - a very elegant combination. The paw pads are black. The eye color is green or blue giving a wonderful contrast to the silvery coat.

Gradient silver
The shaded silver Scottish Fold, or shaded, is tilted like the chinchilla, but there is more overturning and this makes it very darker than the chinchilla.

Shell Cameo
A Scottish Fold cameo has a pure white undercoat. The head and tail are tilted with the Red (ginger). The skin of the nose, the pads of the paws and the edges of the eyes are pink in color. In the midst of all the wonderful delicate red shades the eyes are a brilliant gold color.
Shaded Cameo
A shaded cameo is much darker than a shell cameo, because there is more flipping. But the undercoat is white just like a shell cameo. Again the skin of the nose, the pads of the paws and the edges of the eyes are pink in color while the eyes are golden.

Smoke
A smoke colored Scottish Fold has a white undercoat and the reverse is the same as the shaded and shell cameo, but each hair has a heavy hint of color that reaches further down to each hair. So much so that when the cat doesn't move, looks solid color, but when it starts to move, the white undercoat becomes visible. This is a pretty cool sight and it makes you understand why this type of coat is called "smoke". A smoke can have red, blue or black tipping. The eye color is golden again.

Another colors
Tabby
All the tabby colors They are accepted in Scottish Fold cats, including red, brown, silver and blue plus mackerel, spotted, blunt, patched, and a variety of other tabby colors / patterns.

Turtle
A tortoiseshell fold has clearly defined patches of black, red and cream. The eyes are golden.
Calico
A Scottish Fold calico has a white coat with black and red spots. The white color should be dominant in the lower part of the cat. The eyes are golden.

Dilute the Calico
This cat has the same appearance as a calico with the exception that the black and red are diluted in their lightest shades: blue and cream. White dominates the underside again and the eyes are a beautiful gold color.
Blue-Cream
This creamy blue feline has a blue coat with well defined cream patches. The eyes are golden.

Bi-color
A two-tone Scottish Fold has a white coat with patches of black, red, blue or cream. The eyes are golden. Sometimes a two-tone can have strange colored eyes. This means that one eye can be of one color and the second of a different one. Also, blue eyes are common for two-tone cats.
