That of Bengal cat is a man-made and relatively recent breed of cats, which ranks among those of medium-large size. Let's see what this entails for the size and the weight that it can reach.

These cats were born from a crossroad between the Asian Leopard Cat and various domestic cats, in order to create a docile breed suitable for apartment living but with an exotic appearance, which is reflected in its very particular spotted coat.
The Bengal cat is medium to large in size, which usually Weighs between 3, 5 and 7 kg. As is often the case, males are larger and tend to weigh more, ranging from 4.5 to 7 kg. Females stop instead at an interval of 3.5-5.5 kg. The size averages for this breed consist of an overall height of 20-25 cm and a length of 36-46 cm.

The aforementioned cat Asian Leopard, from which the very first generation of Bengal cats was developed, is a small wild feline that inhabits the jungle and weighs approximately 4.5-7 kg. Its size has contributed greatly to determining that of its descendant, but that also depends a lot on the breed of domestic cat mated with the Asian Leopard. Among these breeds are included:
- Ocicat - average weight 2.7-7 kg;
- Egyptian Mau: average weight 3-5 kg;
- Abyssinian - average weight 2.7-4.5 kg;
- Bombay: average weight 2.7-5 kg;
- British Shorthair: average weight 5-8 kg.

Your Bengal could be the fruit of one combination between Asiatic Leopard and one (or more than one) of these other breeds. As a result it is possible, for example, that a Bengal with a strong British Shorthair presence in its family tree is larger than average, while a Bengal that has taken more from Bombay will likely be smaller. Given the weight ranges just reported, however, a Bengal is unlikely to deviate too much from the 3.5-7 kg range.
Technically, Bengal cats stop being puppies from the first year of age onwards. However, they are not yet adults and continue to grow until they are two years old; some take even 3 to reach full maturity.
