The unfortunate protagonist of today's story is called Freedom and it is a kitten who certainly did not have a very easy start to life.

Unfortunately, there are more and more stories of abused and abandoned felines that we tell you. Stories that show that, very often, we are the real beasts.

The story of Freedom is a story that thankfully has a happy ending. Today the feline is still waiting for his application for adoption, but he certainly managed to escape from his first life which, according to the hypotheses of the volunteers of the shelter where he lives, was truly dramatic.

Freedom, this is the name they decided to give him in the shelter where he is now, arrived at the door of the shelter with his paws.

The volunteers of the cattery found it there and observing it immediately realized that the cat needed help.

Our four-legged friend had in fact the fur covered with pink and blue paint. There are two hypotheses about Freedom's past.

In the less dramatic (and which is saying something), Freedom lived in a house where its owners enjoyed painting his fur.

A terrible gesture, also because the paint is definitely toxic for our four-legged friends.

In this case it may have been its owners directly who abandoned it outside the door of the shelter.

Unfortunately, however, there is a second hypothesis. The association that took care of him, the Arizona Animal Welfare League, in fact, he made it known that very often the felines that are used as bait in dog fights have colored fur.

Coloring the fur of a feline with paint allows those who bet during these terrible races to be able to recognize the cat on which they have bet.

This is a custom that is as terrible as it is widespread. Our four-legged friend could therefore have managed to escape from this fate.

Now it is in the hands of the volunteers of the shelter. His health is good and he is ready for his first application for adoption. Freedom definitely deserves a happy second life.
