Sully, the kitten saved by a soldier on a mission

Is called Sully the kitten protagonist of today's story and is a feline who has a potentially happy life ahead of him. Everything, only if the bureaucracy is able to take its course.

The other protagonist of the story is Dan Brissey. Dan is an American soldier who is serving in Kabul, in Afghanistan.

He has been on a mission for some time and in January he will finally be able to return to Texas, where his wife is waiting for him.

His intentions are not to return alone. In fact, during his long mission Dan became friends with a four-legged friend, the kitten Sully.

She found him as soon as he was born on the streets of Kabul, the only one to have survived among his brothers.

Having always been an animal lover, Dan didn't feel like leaving him there. He knew that, without someone's intervention, that little cat would have met the same fate as his brothers.

And so he took him with him, first taking him to a vet. Although decidedly debilitated and hungry, the feline was all in all fine.

The only care he needed was someone to take him off the street and take care of him.

And so Dan did. He kept Sully with him throughout the mission, forming a very special relationship with him.

But as his departure approached, Dan began to worry about what would become of his four-legged friend once he was gone.

He knew that Sully would start to lead the life of a stray again, the life that kills so many cats every year in Kabul.

The soldier therefore decided to contact the No Profit Nowzad, an association founded by Pen Farthing who every year helps many soldiers to bring home the animals they know on mission.

There was just one small problem: Sully's trip cost between $ 3 and $ 5,000, an amount that Dan couldn't afford.

And so the soldier started a fundraiser, trying to make his story as viral as possible. And achieving its result, since much more money than necessary was raised.

What will be left over from Sully's transportation costs will be used by the association to help other stray animals in Kabul. The hope now is that the bureaucracy will do the rest.
