Today we want to tell you the particular story of Sinbad, a cat who had a truly terrible experience, but who is happy again today.
Very often we tell you stories of felines who have known human cruelty. Stories of cats abandoned, abused or worse still killed by those who promised to take care of them. Like the story of Dalancey, the kitten who after much suffering seeks happiness.
The Sinbad story, however, is not the classic story of mistreating a cat. Because even if this four-legged friend has suffered a lot of suffering, there is no real culprit.
Sinbad has in fact suffered the consequences of the poor health of his owner, a man who lives in Illinois.
Due to his serious health problems, the man stopped taking care of his cat who found himself completely abandoned to himself.
It is unknown how long Sinbad lived alone. The only certain thing is that when the volunteers of the Anti - Cruelty Society of Chicago they found him, his condition was really terrible.
Sinbad is a 9 year old Persian cat. After the time spent completely alone, his fur had grown so much that it became a real trap for him.
Our four-legged friend was in fact stuck inside his fur. He could hardly walk anymore, because his huge fur forced him to stay still.
Fortunately, the intervention of the volunteers was timely. Removing all that hair took many hours of work.
But Sinbad was docile and calm and allowed himself to be cut without much resistance.
Once free, our four-legged friend struggled a lot to resume his normal life.
He hadn't walked in a long time and his rehabilitation path was very long.
A path that Sinbad has faced together with Elliott Serrano, the man who had decided to take him up for temporary adoption during his treatment.
Needless to say, their relationship became so close that Elliott eventually decided to adopt Sinbad. Today our four-legged friend is very happy!
